Getting your listing to the internet.

The way that a listing can be syndicated to many sites starts with the data entered in Paragon. There are four fields that dictate what will happen to a listing once it has been added to Paragon. They are:
  • Internet Include
  • Internet  Address Display
  • Display Comments
  • Display AVM

Internet Include: Indicates if the listing will go to the internet (to sites OTHER than Paragon) This is Listing Syndication, brokers determine which sites their listings will appear on.

Internet Address Display: Indicates if the property address will be displayed on the internet when the listing is syndicated to other sites.

Display Comments: Indicates if when the listing is syndicated to a site where the consumer logs into an agent or broker site, that comments can be shared between the consumer and the agent/ broker providing the site.

Display AVM: An AVM is an automated valuation model. This indicates if when the listing is syndicated to a site where the consumer logs into an agent or broker site, that the agent / broker site can use this listing in an AVM (like a CMA).

Some sites that syndicate listings will not display listings that mark no to any or all of these fields. For example; Zillow will not display listings that don't allow AVMs.

The IMLS Rules Orientation Class Requirement for All Agents / Brokers

The IMLS Rules Class MUST be completed by the end of 2018 and then is required for everyone every 2 years and is available live or online. The online class requires a test to be completed and passed.

At IMLS we periodically have to add or change rules to keep in compliance with NAR and keep our data integrity intact.  Many of the issues and complaints that are brought to our attention are related to someone not knowing that we had a rule or unaware that the rule had changed.  Our goal is to help prevent some of the issues and complaints by education and we think this will be an important step in making the experience better for everyone participating in IMLS.

The class and quiz (online only) need to be completed by the end of this year for all agents & brokers.  Click on the links below to take the class online or register for a class.  If you took the rules class in New Member Orientation in 2017 or 2017, you will not be required to take the class until 2019 or 2020.
